As CEO, he also created the momentum and framework that allowed the company to go public in 1992. Steve Verdooner's leadership of Opthalmic Imaging Systems, Inc., first as executive vice president and later as CEO, continued until 2007 when he accepted a position as executive vice president of Opko Health, Inc. The following year, Mr. Verdooner launched Ocular Development, LLC, which focused on creating and marketing innovative technologies to support professionals in the eye care industry. Two years later, he merged the company with a new endeavor in collaboration with Keith Black, MD, forming NeuroVision Imaging, Inc. He now serves as CEO at NeuroVision, which has earned 12 U.S. patents and 20 international patents for its leading-edge technologies.
