• the Quran (given to Muhammad SAW), 
• the Taurat (given to Musa AS), 
• the Injil (given to Isa AS), 
• the Zabur (given to Daud As),  

• Islam teaches its people that God conveys His revelation through angels to prophets and messengers. 

• A prophet (Nabi) in Islam refers to a person who was given a revelation (Islamic teachings that contain certain rules) by God as a guide for life, while a messenger (Rasul) is a prophet who was commanded by God to deliver the revelation to the people of the world in his time.

• Among the prophets and messengers that Muslims must know are 25 people.

• 4 of these 25 prophets and messengers are given the holy book.

• Qiyamah is the judgement day in Islam, when all bodies will be resurrected from the dead, and all persons are called to account for their deeds and their faith during their life on earth.

Among the names of the Day of Resurrection/Judgement used in the Qur'an are:

• al-Qari'ah—the Calamity

• al-Zalzalah—the Earthquake

• Yawm al-Hisab—the Day of Reckoning

• as-sa’a—the [Last] Hour

• Yawm al-Qiyamah—Day of Resurrection

• Following these portents, the Earth will be destroyed. (In surah Al-Haqqah)

When the trumpet is blown with a single blast
and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow,
then, on that day, the terror shall come to pass,
and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail. ... "

(Q.69:13–16)

• Verses from another surah (At-Takwir) describe

When the sun shall be darkened
When the stars shall be thrown down
When the seas shall be set boiling
When the souls shall be coupled, ...
When the scrolls shall be unrolled
When heavens shall be stripped off,
When Hell shall be set blazing,
When Paradise shall be brought nigh
Then shall a soul know what it has produced.

• Qadha’

In Arabic, qadha’ means placing and deciding a specific ruling.

While from syarak’s perspective, qadha’ is something that has been decided by Allah SWT for all His creations, whether it is in terms of its creation, destruction or changes.

• Qadar

In Arabic, qadar means setting something to a certain amount.

While in syarak, qadar is something that has been set at a certain amount since the beginning of time, so that it follows His knowledge which precedes everything.

The Differences Between Qadha’ and Qadar

• Qadar is setting an amount or extent of something before deciding that it would happen. While qadha’ is making something happen according to a specified condition. This means qadar happens first before qadha’, both are complementary to each other and are inseparable.

(عِلْم آخر الزمان في الإسلام)

• a field of study in Islam concerning future events that would happen in the end times. It is primarily based on sources from the Quran and Sunnah.

• Aspects from this field of study include the signs of the final age, the destruction of the universe and Judgement Day.

Signs of the End Times

• From Huzaifah Bin Asid al-Ghifari said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) appeared beside us when we were talking. Then His Prophet SAW asked: What are you talking about? They replied: We are talking about al-Sa'ah (the Day of Resurrection). Then the Prophet SAW said:

  
  

  "Indeed it (Doomsday) will not happen unless you see ten signs before it". "His Prophet SAW mentioned (the signs): Smoke, Dajjal, al-Dabah, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Prophet Isa son of Maryam, Yakjuj and Makjuj and three eclipses, one in the East, one in the West and another eclipse in the Arabian region or peninsula. Next, the last is the coming out of fire from Yemen that drives people to their Mahsyar". [Narrated by Muslim (2901)]

Do the great signs of Doomsday have a specific order?

• Sheikh al-Mubarakfuri has said: "Know that these narrations (relating to the great signs of the Doomsday) have become a dispute over the order of the ten signs (the great signs of the Doomsday). For that reason, scholars have disagreed in determining the arrangement.

  
  

  It has been said that the first great sign of Doomsday is Smoke, then the appearance of the Dajjal, then the descent of Isa AS, then the appearance of Gog and Magog, then the appearance of al-Dabah, then the rising of the sun from the West because the infidels entered Islam at the time of Jesus AS until this preaching becomes one". [See: Tuhfah al-Ahwazi, 346/6]

Dajjal

• Dajjal al-Masih is full of misguidance that spreads slander to humans with extraordinary events such as bringing down rain and animating the earth with plants.

• Dajjal is called al-Masih because one of his eyes is blind (erased).

Dajjal can be recognized by several attributes that His Prophet SAW preached through his hadiths. Among them are:

• A human being.

• Her hair is curly and tangled.

• One of his eyes is blind.

• Written on his forehead كفر (blasphemy).

How to deal with Dajjal's slander

• Stick to the guidance from the Qur'an and the Hadith.

• Pray more to Allah SWT to be saved from all slander and increase righteous deeds.

• Participate and always be with the Islamic Congregation that is there at that time.

• Increasing istighfar and asking for forgiveness from Allah SWT.

• Dajjal cannot enter Mecca and Medina.

• Increase zikrullah (remembrance of Allah SWT) and always remember Him based on the hadith above.

“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.” [Quran 31:14]

Manners towards parents in Islam:

• Being patient and tolerant with parents

The children must scrupulously try to refrain from disobeying their parents since the Prophet ﷺ regarded this as one of the grave sins.

• The greater right of the mother

Once a companion (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet ﷺ as to whom he should show more kindness. The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Your mother." He (may Allah be pleased with him) asked who comes next and the Prophet ﷺ again replied: "Your mother."He (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet ﷺ yet again who comes next. The Prophet ﷺ replied: “Your mother." When the companion asked for the fourth time, only then did the Prophet ﷺ reply: "Your father."

• Be grateful to your parents

Thanksgiving and an acknowledgement of debt and gratitude are the first duties which a beneficiary owes to the benefactor.

• Love your parents

Love your parents and consider this act as a privilege and a source of reward in the eternal world.

• Obey your parents with full devotion

Obey your parents with full devotion. Even if they show some intransigence, obey their will cheerfully. Keeping in view the great favours which they have done to you, try to fulfil all their demands willingly which may be offensive to your own taste or temperament, provided, of course, they are not derogatory to the tenets of religion.

• Spend Good on Them

Consider your own goods as the property of your parents and spend your capital on them with an open hand.

• Offer prayers continuously invoking the mercy of Allah upon your parents

The Qur’an enjoins upon the pious to say this prayer: O our Lord! Grant forgiveness to me and my parents and pardon all the faithful on the day of Reckoning.

• Regarding proper manners toward the neighbour, Allah mentions in the Qur’an,

“Worship Allah and join none with Him; and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, the needy, the neighbour who is near of kin, the neighbour who is farther away, the companion by your side, the wayfarer, and those [slaves] whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allah does not love the one who is proud and boastful” (Qur’an, 4:36).

• Islam places a great emphasis on the relationship with one’s neighbours. This is naturally so since the neighbour is one of the people you will most frequently see, run into, or interact with on a daily basis.

• A Muslim’s good relationship with his neighbour will increase his virtue and ultimately bring him closer to Allah. This relationship is to be full of kindness, concern, sensitivity, trust, and patience. Strictly forbidden is any harm or malice toward the neighbour.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt his neighbour, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should serve his guest generously; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet” (Saheeh al-Bukhari).

Manners towards neighbours:

• Smiling at our neighbours is a form of charity for which Allah rewards a Muslim.

• A Muslim does not neglect his neighbour and we are taught that a Muslim who goes to sleep with his belly full while his neighbour is suffering from hunger is deficient in his Iman.

• Muslims are to be a source of comfort, security, and safety for their neighbour. One’s neighbour should feel safe in his presence and be secure that a Muslim will honour his rights and protect his home.

• Honouring and respecting one’s neighbours is manifested through the actions toward them, through acts of kindness and compassion.

  
  

1. Showing respect: Manners help us show respect for others, their feelings, and their property. Saying "please" and "thank you," holding doors open for others, and using polite language are all examples of ways we can show respect.

   
   

2. Improving communication: Good manners can improve communication between people by helping to avoid misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Clear communication and good listening skills are key components of good manners.

   
   

3. Promoting kindness: Manners can promote kindness by encouraging us to think about others and their needs. Acts of kindness like offering to help someone who is struggling or giving a compliment are all ways that good manners can foster a culture of kindness.

   
   

4. Building trust: Good manners can build trust between people by demonstrating honesty, reliability, and consistency. When we are polite and courteous, we are more likely to be trusted and respected by others.

   
   

5. Creating a positive atmosphere: Good manners can create a positive atmosphere in social settings by promoting feelings of warmth, friendliness, and inclusivity. This can help to foster strong relationships and a sense of community.

• The etiquette of the student towards the teacher

  Engaging in obedience to parents early facilitates obedience to the teacher later. This is not blind obedience, but an act of kindness. The Qur’an states:

  “Be good to your parents” (bi’l-wālidayn iḥsān).”

  We are expected to extend that same kindness to our teachers.

  
  

  The rules of etiquette that students should have with their teacher;

  • They should defend him against those who speak ill of him;

  • they should visit his grave

  • they should seek forgiveness and offer charity on his behalf

  • they should apologize if he is angry

  • they should thank him for his guidance; they should ask permission to enter his room

  • they should sit respectfully before him

  • they should ask for clarification politely

  • they should not interrupt him while speaking

  • they should not speak to their classmates while he speaks.

The etiquette of the student towards knowledge

• The adab of the student requires him to respect all disciplines of knowledge while acknowledging that they exist in a hierarchy, as some disciplines are given priority over others. He should study the basics before proceeding to more advanced levels.

• A person should not study a new subject until he has enough knowledge of its foundations, for a flood of jumbled information can confuse him and hamper his understanding. When Allah says of “those to whom we have given the book and they read it with due sincerity and commitment,”

  He refers to those who are sincerely committed to the mastery of an art or science, theoretically and practically. They would only proceed to the next level of study if they have mastered the previous level.

  
  

1. Mindful Nature Immersion: 🌳 Take the time to immerse yourself in nature's embrace. Disconnect from technology, breathe in the fresh air, and witness the beauty surrounding you. By being fully present and mindful, we deepen our connection and develop a profound appreciation for its wonders.

2. Sustainable Lifestyle Choices: 🌱 Embrace sustainable living practices that honour and protect nature. From reducing single-use plastics to adopting eco-friendly alternatives, every small step counts. By making conscious choices, we show gratitude by minimizing our ecological footprint and preserving the gifts of nature for future generations.

3. Environmental Stewardship: 🌍 Engage in activities that actively contribute to the well-being of our environment. Participate in local clean-up initiatives, support conservation projects, or get involved in tree planting efforts. By taking tangible actions, we demonstrate our gratitude through hands-on stewardship.

💡 Actionable Tips:

1. Cultivate Nature Awareness: 🌺 Develop a deeper understanding of the natural world through education and exploration. Read books, follow environmental organizations, and engage in conversations that broaden your knowledge. This knowledge will fuel your gratitude and inspire you to protect and preserve our precious ecosystems.

2. Spread the Message: 📢 Use your platform and influence to spread awareness about the importance of showing gratitude to nature. Share inspiring stories, highlight innovative conservation efforts, and encourage others to join you in expressing appreciation. Together, we can amplify the impact of our gratitude.

3. Collaborate for Change: 🤝 Partner with like-minded individuals, businesses, and organizations to drive collective action. Collaborate on sustainability projects, support environmental initiatives, and build a strong network of changemakers who share your passion for showing gratitude to nature.

• Islamic values urge all humans to develop, use and sustainably manage natural resources. Humans are viewed as stewards and trustees (khalifa) who are responsible for making sure that all resources are used sustainably.

• "O Children of Adam, dress well whenever you are at worship, and eat and drink [as We have permitted] but do not be extravagant (Mizan): God does not like extravagant people."
  [Quran 7:31]

• Allah created a perfectly balanced world based on sustainability and circularity. This balance must be maintained by man acting moderately, thoughtfully and justly. Waste, pollution and destruction are the very qualities that Allah abhors. 

  
  

• “(…) and Allah does not intend to do injustice to (anyone in) the worlds.” [Qur’an 3:108]

In addition to scientific lessons, sharing experiences has also become a new way to gain knowledge for myself.

Although we are not on the same course, it is not an obstacle to close friendship. From there I learned that friends don't necessarily agree. This is because, when discussing a topic, many opinions are put forward, but it does not distance the relationship between us. In addition, many of the topics discussed can be linked and practiced with daily activities. Usrah also emphasizes a lot about beautifying daily practices such as beautifying our daily prayers and so on.
