In the interview I conducted with Diablo Valley College Psychology Professor Ray Faulkenberry he reiterated that individual audience embers and performer are connected by shared representation of emotion and the stimulation of mirror neurons in the brain. He conclusively explained that shared experiences allows humans to develop empathy which leads to compassion and motivation to perceive things in a similar way. He unexpectedly disagreed with my conclusion, that body language is irrelevant when trying to evoke emotion from an audience during a vocal performance. He created the impression that the lyrics are the most important part of any song that attempts to receive and emotional reaction from an audience.

The authors discovered that the perception of visual stimulus larger coincided with the mood the observer is in. The emotional response has less to do with the singer and more to do with the audience's mood, state of mind, and willingness to empathize.

“Music Induced Emotional and Music Processing in the Brain”, published in January 2018 by authors B Geethanjali, Kanagasabai Adalarasu, and Mohan Jagannath. Music affects the human subconscious mind, mood, and behavior based on one's subjective perception of a song and how it stimulates the brain. The majority of whether or not a singer receives an emotional response from an audience relies larger on factors he or she can not control.
