Germany and Russia attacked Poland and Britain, France, India, Australia and New Zealand. Then on September 3rd they started a war against Germany.

In 1929 the great depression had started and it changed the world economies. Making life a lot harder for England because they still had to rebuild and get ready again because of WWI.

This was the first election in which women voted. The results were Conservative and Coalition Liberals 509, Labour 72, Independent Liberals (former Liberal Prime Minister Herbert Asquith's followers) 36, others 27. Although 73 members of Sinn Fein were elected, who included among their number Britain's first woman member of parliament Countess Constance Markievicz, they refused to take their seats.

In october of 1939 they needed more soldiers after the war because so many of them had died that if they got attacked again then they would be doomed. So they made it so that everybody at the ages 20-21 have to work in the military.

On the 30 of august England knew that they had to protect their land because they had been pushed back into their home town by the war. So they had all of their troops, even the ones protecting the queen go to a battle station so they couldn't make it any farther. 

On the fourth of february there were many injured and a few badly injured that made the chance that they could have died. There were Irish bombers on the underground railroad track thay had blown up two railroad tracks killing few and injuring many on the trains.
