Something interesting I found was that mail deliveries were unpredictable as to when the mail would come. During the American Revolution, it became critical. Deliveries from across the Atlantic were intermittent and would sometimes take months to arrive. Boy am I glad thats not how it is today! When my mom orders stuff I can't wait until it arrives!

Way back in the beginning of the United States Postal Service, on July 26, 1775, was the start of mail being delivered. On the process to build up to its height, the first postmaster general, Benjamin Franklin, helped put in place the foundation for many aspects of today's U. S. P. S. On their start of U. S. P. S., they had as little as 75 Post offices in the United States, but now, there are as much as 40,000 which also gives 212 BILLION pieces of mail approximately every year that goes to 144 million houses or business's alike.
~Nicholas/Nickle Pickle. :D

The United States postal service began in July 1,1971. Benjamin Franklin was the very first postmaster of Phillidelphia by the British Crown post in 1737. Benjamin was dismissed as joint postmaster general than he worked. He worked for the Second Continental Congress which than made home postmaster General. This meant he could hire anybody he wanted and his salary was $1,000 and $340 for secratary and comptroller. He was in control of all the post offices in Massachusetts to Georgia. -Maddy😎😊😊😊😚🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🐱🐎🐎🐎🐮🐏🐽🐷

The United States Post Office or USPO was created on July 26, 1775, by decree of the Second Continental Congress. another interesting thing I learned was that In 1901, the Post Office Department entered into its first contract to carry the mail by automobile between the Buffalo Post Office and a postal station in the Pan American Exposition grounds. Although it took 35 minutes to traverse the 4 1/2 miles between the two offices, the Department professed great satisfaction with the contract and prepared for similar service on January 1, 1902, at Minneapolis.

jakew
recourses
google
Wikipedia
