5. When sharing personal experiences it helps the client know that they are not alone and that there is someone else who has experienced the same thing they have and can understand what they are going through.

3. In a short-term, stress on the body can affect one's health by lowering their immune system causing them to get sick easier and can also change their diet and eating patterns causing either weight gain or weight loss. Psychological effects are low performance which can affect speech, low self-awareness as well as lack of emotional arousal (Rith-Nijarian, McLaughlin, Sheridan, & Nock, 2014). Lastly social effects are withdrawing from social settings, acting rushed when around others, and irritable tempers or impulsive behaviors.
The long term effects are more serious and can results in diseases due to changes in hormones such as the adrenaline hormone (ACTH), the central nervous system, and can even damage important organs and functions such as the gastrointestinal (Yaribeygi, Panahi, Sahraei, Johnston, & Sahebkar, 2017). Overall damage of these can lead to life threatening consequences.
