Hello! I am Elijah Dorminy and I am currently pursuing an MBA online with a Human Resource Management emphasis. I graduated from TWU in 2020 with a Bachelor's in General Studies, and I am currently employed with a local government managing Capital Improvement Projects Program. Upon graduation from the MBA program, I hope to continue to advance my career in local government. I am a father of 4, and in my spare time I am either wrenching on my 86' Squarebody Pickup or chatting it up on amateur radio.

My general understanding of organizational behavior is how individuals of an organization interact and how that interaction affects the performance of the organization. I look forward to gaining more knowledge on this topic, and applying what I learn from this course to my current role.

In addition to maintaining the CIP Program for my employer, I also conduct water and wastewater licensing training. This course will enable me to understand and develop strategies to motivate employees to complete the training and gain their respective licenses. Also, analyzing workplace culture and employee attitudes and behavior regarding training and tailor our training program to meet these needs.

Studying organizational behavior has benefits, and those benefits include: reduced turnover rates, optimized leadership development, enhanced customer satisfaction, and increased employee morale and job satisfaction (Constable, 2024). Organizational behavior management and its understanding within your organization will enable you to understand your successes, and areas where you will need to improve.

What is Personality, Perception, Attribution, Attitude, Emotions and Ethics.

All of these attributes to me help you understand your interactions between your fellow employees, customers, and the organization as a whole. One thing that stands out to me as someone who works in local government is attitude and ethics. In my role, I have to display a positive attitude and when there are concerns regarding a project and it's impact on the public, I have to remain calm and project a positive attitude even though the project may disrupt normal day-to-day routines for residents. Additionally, we have to operate ethically and remain transparent to the public in how we operate.
