As the pain began, I stepped back.

Burns rose in my eyes like never before, giving me every single memory of my past flooded into my poor head.

Cuts and bruises appears as if the moon were a abusive individual, like my family.

Dauntlessly, the moon slowly killed me.

Every single flawless inche of my skin turning into black substance, darkness was setting.

Flawless, you say? No, it wasnt flawless at first.

Guided by the stars, I ran away from my home.

Home?

I turned away furiously as the winds slashed my skin. The moon was closing up on me.

Jeopardy was coming and my luck was dissecting it's way from me in fear.

Keenness judgement striked my brain.

Luna was a bad name for me. I wished I had never had it, so dark. So vague. And vile.

Morning began to rise and I was so delighted that I fought the moon back.

Nothing could stop me, except that the moon was counter attacking me.

Oh, Lord? Why put innocents to this? I have done nothing to deserve this mental torture!

Person, I want to be a normal person again.

Quite dumb, you say I am?

Right you are, but not when it comes to life itself.

Steadily, I stablized and regained my senses.

Today, the moon will be beaten, no. Tonight. The moon will be defeated tonight.

Unable to critically attack the moon, I stopped.

Vividly, I regained memories of my childhood.

Wordlessly, I watched as the moon stabbed me and I watched my pass, flinching and sobbing.

Xylophones-sounding music rang in my ear slowly as I watched my memories flood to me, my mom beating me, kids throwing words at me, myself wanting to die.

Youth began to haunt me and I closed my eyes and fell over.

Zillions, and I mean zillions, of particles spun around me as the moon had defeated me once more.

This story is about a girl fighting herself. Luna has abusive parents and her depression lurks on her shoulder ready to pounce and tell her to make desicions that are against her own will. I wrote this poem because it relates to my willpower but mostly about a girl I knew with severe depression, she was cutting herself and getting bullied for being upset about something no one asked about and I was the only one there for her. She moved to Oregon City when I was in fourth grade and I never saw her again after that.

If you are presenting this, then it's obvious that Ana Bragdon, a future author and artist AND poet wrote this.
