* Vaccinations were a taunting subject during this time in England because for the first time they were forced to comply with vaccine laws. 

* In 1881 they didn't have social media to spread news, they had pamphlets. 

* One of the major fears in this era was "The Vaccination Vampire." People assumed that if you got vaccinated it would cause "degradation and extinction" stated by Zinoman.(2)

Stoker was informed well about the anti-vaccination movement and he was also using some of his own similar fears.

* Vampires expanded to the sexy, seductive role in the 20th century from films to television shows. For example, the film "Victorian world of Hammer," in the 1960s and 1970s, to a comedy that teens can relate to in the 1980s called "The Lost Boys," then to follow in the 1990s "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and now in the 2000s "Twilight," just to name a few.
