It's not easy for a student to explain to another student why the question will be solved in that way. If we show our impatience in the process of interpretation, the students will feel uncomfortable to keep asking, they might pretend that they understand. Although they get the correct answer, when they meet the similar question again, they still have no idea about that question

You have to really show them that you care about their learning. The student has to feel like they're being helped by someone who genuinely wants them to understand the concepts they're struggling with, and who won't stop until they do!

If the student isn't motivated, they usually won't be interested in learning the subject, in turn, the tutor, won't be successful in helping the student comprehend the idea.

Adaptability and willingness to understand the differences in learning between yourself and others could be a make it or break it quality in a tutor as every person thinks in a slightly different way, and being able to teach to that not only shows your own understanding, but will better help the person you're trying to teach.

We all have a lot on our plates this year but we need to be able to show up for those who need our help and have motivation to offer our time and encouragement.

It didn't occur to me at first, but a peer tutor should have a passion for teaching and helping others. If a student comes to a tutoring session and the tutor is completely uninterested, then the student trying to learn will see your disinterest, and in result, will not learn much. So it is important to make sure you show the student that you really want to be there and you are there to help them with as much as you can.

Not only does it save time from our/ students’ busy schedule, it also helps with engaging with the students. Find the most proper and effective way to communicate can build a stronger connections and solve more problems.

HCS
