Papier are a modern stationery company that pride themselves on their sustainability and welcome unique approaches to the designs they use for their product. They have commissioned designs for 2 new notebooks, the theme aspects that must be included are:

·        Dot

·        Line

·        Shape

 

To explore this theme doing research and drawing objects seen in life, both organic and manufactured, along with working with mixed media is best for developing your imagery both digitally and analogue.

 

Information on this task can be viewed on Canvas. In addition, check your schedule to make sure you are fine with time management to be more efficient and confident in completing your project brief. Be sure to upload any documentation of your progress from your lecturer’s classes and workshops to your Padlet. The final submission should be made digitally.

 

For the target market of 18-25 year olds, research the interests of the age range in order to fit the demographic and make the product more appealing for both writing/drawing. It can be helpful to look at previous illustrator collaborations with Papier, along with the company's social media for inspiration.

I will explore this theme through both analog and digital techniques, showcasing my creative ideas in a physical sketchbook, experimenting with mixed media and drawing organic and manufactured objects from life.

·         I’ve been commissioned to create TWO new notebook covers for their new range. 

·         The inspiration for this new line is the theme of “Dot, Line and Shape”. 

·         In order to explore this theme I’ll carry out research drawn from different objects that are natural or manufactured, developing this imagery will be done by using different avenues of mixed media; be it digital or traditional.

·         The target audience is 18 – 25 year olds, designs should be bold and eye catching, should also appeal to those that are in this age bracket.  

·          A Digital Sketchbook consisting of my media exploration, image research and development work. To be submitted as a pdf. 

·         2x Final Notebook designs that measure in at an A5 Size (210 x 148mm), these are to be submitted as jpegs. 

·         Research and Analysis work of 2x Illustrators/Designers that work in the stationary industry, these are to be added into the “Blog” Padlet Board, accompanied with a URL to the Canvas Dropbox

Design two notebook covers inspired by ‘dot, line, shape’ for the brand papier. Using objects from life, both natural and human made as inspiration. Made with the idea of selling it to young adults in mind. Looking at past papier notebook collaborations for inspiration for this modern stationary brand. Working both physically and digitally to create the final products.
