The only place that had more slaves was Brazil.<br>-Working conditions and several different diseases such as smallpox made a slave's life miserable and short.<br>-A lot of the slaves working in fields were women.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Big white planters were at the top of the group and they owned most of the plantations and slaves around.<br>-Next up in ranking were the "free" colored people. Many French men would father several black children. He would set free his children. The "free" colored people served for the colonies militia. They also owned plantations and slaves.<br>-Below these were the poor whites. They served as artisans and laborers.<br>-The lowest rank goes to the slaves. They made up most of the population.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>People living in undeveloped southern countries, such as Ethiopia, are going through hard times. Even if it is not as bad as slavery it is still really bad. Everything they have get destroyed by bombs, fires, earthquakes and what else. It is not fair for those people, but when they come to these higher developed places, they are some of the toughest people I know.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Haitian Revolution was really just a rejection of France. It was also European racism and colonialism. Haiti was the second free and independent nation state in the Americas. It was the most successful slave revolts. Without this revolution we wouldn't be standing where we are today in the field of peoples rights. I have learned a lot about this revolution and about the state of Haiti today. Tragedies have struck, but the people have always stayed strong. If the slaves in the rest of America stood up like this then things might have been different</div>]]></description>
