By enabling anyone and everyone to learn a language, you are enabling them to become citizens of the world. People can develop their social skills, communicative skills, interpersonal skills, confidence, intercultural understanding, cognitive skills, language awareness, cultural awareness and... IT'S FUN!

There is no other subject that is focussed entirely on building bridges between communities via communication.

Learning about different cultures can build tolerance and understanding within communities. For example, cultural lessons on traditions and festivals such as Christmas in other countries can help to widen their knowledge and help understand that people are different. 

A greater understanding about different countries, cultures and religions makes things seem less alien and prevents stereotypes from forming. 

Language learning allow people to form their own opinions based on their experiences rather than conforming to age-old stereotypes.
