* I often wonder "How are we helping them transition from an environment they are use to and successful in to one that is so brand new?" Feels like we are throwing them into the deep end of the pool at times!
* The part about coach and student working together on goals is key. Maybe do goal setting in an early session before assignments are the focus, then revisit the set goals often, adjusting their expectations, etc.
* I think our daily "To-Do" list is a great reminder system like they discuss in this article. Both for them and us!!

As I keep being exposed to new skills and learning - thanks to Danielle and her technology expertise! - I am reminded what it feels like to be a student in a new environment. Because most of us are so comfortable in an educational environment, we can forget not only the stress a new environment can cause but also the cognitive overload resulting from the onslaught of a complex academic curriculum, new skills required, new expectations & responsibilities - academic, personal, social, etc. It is helpful for teachers to be reminded of what it feels like to be a student . . . . and Padlet is amazing!
