His accomplishments with Bloomberg have led to honors such as the 2017 OSPA Award for Best Internal Security Organization. Eduardo Jany also oversaw response efforts in the wake of Hurricane Irma in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He formerly served nearly 30 years as a policeman and manager with various local law enforcement agencies and more than 30 years as a member of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) active and reserve forces. He received a Police Medal of Valor in 2003, and the USMC awarded him a Bronze Star Medal in 2004 and a Meritorious Service Medal in 2014. An avid fitness enthusiast and a former North American Sport Karate Association martial artist, Eduardo Jany is a three-time medalist in the CanAm Police Fire Games.
