Every October, the Llanero Festival is celebrated in Villavicencio, Meta, as a living example of the identity of the Eastern Plains. This event is considered one of the most authentic expressions of Llanero culture. During the festival, joropo is danced by couples wearing traditional costumes, while traditional music is played on the harp, cuatro, and maracas. The streets are decorated with flags, lights, and folkloric motifs, and the local cuisine is proudly shared among visitors and residents.

Handcrafted products are exhibited at fairs that promote local talent. This festive atmosphere is experienced as a celebration of regional identity and a sense of community. 

In 2023, I attended the Bambuco Festival in Neiva, Huila, where regional dances were performed and traditional costumes were displayed in a cultural parade.
