Refugees are officially recognized as people who are fleeing persecution or conflict and have the right to international protection. Meanwhile, asylum seekers are people who have applied for asylum and are still waiting for official recognition as refugees. The similarities between asylum seekers and refugees are that they are both fleeing danger in their home country, seeking protection in another country, based on fear of persecution, and wanting to live in a safe place.

Similarities:

Both sides are trying to flee from danger that are caused by either war, disaster or any other kind of problems that causes them to become refugees/asylum seekers. They also need protection from the law under human rights. They're also vulnerable to any potential danger because they're unprotected.

Differences:

Most refugees would be recognized already by the law and is already provided safety, however asylum seekers aren't. Refugees have more rights/access to the place they're staying, but asylum seekers have far less.

Providing basic needs upon refugees and asylum seekers arrival and as well work and education opportunities without needing visas to gain such access. Mental health support to those who need them, and finally processing of asylum seekers to gain their respective rights.
