Melon Head Assignment

To produce this piece I had to watch the video provided and carefully follow the steps. I used the lasso tool for most of the work and had to learn how to use it. I feel this piece of work is very cute and is not horrible for a beginner. I particularly like the eyebrows because it adds more expression to the face. I kind of dislike the hair but there wasn't much to work it. I enjoyed putting together the pieces in this work and seeing it come together to make a face. I would do this differently with a different background and maybe a different base. One thing I would like to try to improve upon is definitely the emotions I wish I could convey more of what this melon was feeling.

To produce this piece I had to go through a lot of steps. I cleared out my night schedule and watched the video provided. I used the move and Rectangle tool a lot in this piece and played around with the layer tool a lot. I have gotten better at this kind of work by becoming more familiar with the tools in Photoshop so there are fewer errors in the look. I definitely need to improve the quality of the work as it is just the default name tag.
The video was a bit frustrating as there were king of a lot of unnecessary things said. This piece reveals that I as a learner can learn things quickly. This is because I did everything almost the same as performed in the video besides the colors and gradients. If I was the teacher a comment I would make would be about the colors, the purple is very bright and in your face. I would like to improve upon the text I want it to pop out more. It looks a little basic in my eyes.

Bulls Eye Assignment

I have gotten better at this kind of work by spending less time on it. I can work faster now in terms of Photoshop tools. I didn't really encounter any problems besides inserting the image I didn't want in the section I wanted it to be in but I fixed this fairly quickly. It was satisfying to see the drop shadow and what it did. It created a nice illusion of the layers popping out. Compared to the last two assignments this one definitely has more of a clean look. I improved in terms of being more friendly with the tools so there is a neater look to this assignment. If I was the teacher a comment I would make is that it looks like the student put effort into the drop shadows and strokes. One thing I would like to improve on is the shape of the circles they are not super appealing to the eye but it is alright for now.

Double Exposure Assignment

I have gotten better at this kind of work by knowing the different tools and struggling less with time management on these assignments. I think I need to improve on adjusting the layers this took me a little bit of time. I think this piece of work is pretty cool I am proud of it. It really encaptures the city which I love because I grew up in the city. I particularly like the colors. I do not dislike anything about it. I enjoyed changing the saturation of the image and seeing how it changed the image. The ending was satisfying to make my hair show more of the city and my face pop out more. I would like people to notice how the city falls into my hair the illusion is pretty cool. I'm guessing they would notice this and how my face shows less of the city. If I could do this piece again maybe I would switch to showing the city on my hair with my face.

Animal Hybrid Assignment

To produce this I had to watch the video provided to learn how to properly use the tools in terms of this assignment. I have gotten better at this kind of work by spending less time navigating the tools. I need to improve my blending of colors a little more. Seeing the animal hybrid was kind of satisfying. I found the layers frustrating because I kept pressing the wrong ones. As a learner, this piece reveals I can learn to do things quickly. Compared to my first piece I definitely learned to have a more clean look with my final piece. No, my work is not the same as others it is unique, I combined the animals in my own way in a different environment. It is similar to others in terms we combining two different animals. I would like to try different animals based on my peer's pieces.

To produce this piece I had to use the layer tool, eyedropper, and brush tool. I have gotten better at this kind of work by creating a smoother look. It is satisfying to see the dehydrated lemon for the tail and fins and the color matches really well. This piece I didn't find that frustrating as I worked on it second so was a little more used to the tools by now. As a learner, this reveals I can do things at pace and have it not look bad at all. Compared to my first assignment this one has a clean feel to it and looks more natural. My work is different than others as I focused on a smaller aspect of the animal. It is similar to others in terms that we are all combining animals and food. Next time, based on my classmate's work I would like to try to focus on a bigger part of the animal body.

To make this piece I used different tools in photoshop. I have improved by knowing where the tools are in the app, but I need to improve by learning how to use the tools better. I encountered problems by not being sure what background to use so I just used a given one even though it is not what I envisioned. This piece of work is not my best. I like the characters on it, I wouldn't say I like the background. I enjoyed typing the words on this. Compared to the beginning of the year this work looks like more tools were used. I see changes in the amount of tools I use. As a teacher, I would say this piece has a lot of colors. I want to improve on how this piece turned out. If I could do this over again I would change the background.

To produce this piece I had to go through a series of steps. I first made a couple of drafts for designs I wanted. I made my final copy then uploaded it onto Photoshop and used the pen tool to fix everything up. I have improved at this type of work by knowing where the tools are so I waste less time. I think I need to improve my pen tool skills. I feel like this piece of work is pretty cool and I like the contradicting colors. I like the red the most. I dislike the color of the guitar because I feel like it doesn't match. I enjoyed drawing this piece of work. Using the pen tool was the most frustrating part. I learned that I like bright colors as I worked on this piece. I have not changed any ideas I have on this subject. Compared to my first project, the melon head I can see the changes in my work. My cuts are more clean and my work has a smoother feeling. If I was the teacher I would comment on the bright colors. If I had to redo this piece I would get rid of the guitar and add something else with a more bright color.

The idea I am trying to get across is for the viewer to see a modern city where there are robots instead of humans and the world is dominated by them. This work has inspired me as it makes me excited for the future of technology and how advanced technology will becomes, making human lives easier. I would summarize my artwork as clean, very blue, and it captures robots and their future. I would give my artwork a 10, this is because I am a beginner and this piece looks put together and it took a lot of time to do, everything that is asked for is done. From creating this art piece I have learned to become better at using filters and removing backgrounds on images with Adobe Express. From creating this piece I learned I like more vibrant colors, the blue in this image is in everyone's face and is very noticeable. I am happy with my final result, it shows a robotic society and robots are continuing with their life in this society.

The idea I am trying to get across is a parallel busy New York City where the city looks busy but there is less life. This work has inspired me to look at NYC with more appreciation for its life. I would summarize my artwork as dark but beautiful and encaptures the NYC life, of the city that never sleeps. Even though it is empty it is still busy. I would give my artwork a 10, this is because it gets the job done. It uses 7 AI images and it is pieced together well. The cuts are clean on the images and the colors are blended well together. From creating this art piece I learned the importance of matching colors with AI and the styles of art. At first, I had a hard time matching the colors with the scenery but eventually, I got it to work after playing around with the AI. I was happy with the final piece, everything is clean and captures my parallel universe to New York City, my everyday life.

Independent Project #3- Elemental Battle

My art skills have improved during this project as the pieces look very clean-cut in this work. Everything comes together and the four elements look in place. I learned how to remove backgrounds and erase to a point where everything looks blended and appears as one piece. To improve my work I could of had a better background. I combined three images to create this background, it could have had more detail with more images. I used all sorts of colors in this piece. This is because it relates to all the elements of earth and this would need multiple colors. The piece is very bright, fire and water are bright colors and the green grass and stone background give a bright fight scene. These colors make the scene pop out.

In this piece of work I used adobe firefly to generate AI images and I used adobe express to combine these images, delete backgrounds, merge the images, change colors and use the erase tool. To create my artwork I first picked a prompt, wrote a detailed summary of what i imagined and then I sketched it. Next to inserted my text into firefly and produced different ones with important factors i wanted in my image. Lastly I combined them all in adobe express to make my image. The hardest part was sketching, I am not good at sketching or drawing so my work looks a little sloppy but it gets the idea across. The easiest part was generating and picking the AI images I wanted to use. As I created piece I was excited to see it come together with the dark red colors. At first I wasn't going for the dark bed but when the AI images started to have a pattern I went along with it and made it my own.

The idea I am trying to get across is the assignment that is asking for a underwater Utopia where humans and creatures co-exist. This piece of work has not really inspired me much I just like the colors and want most of my pieces to have vibrant colors to reflect off of my vibrant personality. I would summarize my art work as bright and colorful which shows a underwater city where kids and sea creatures thrive. I would give my work a 10/10 this is because I did what the assignment asked for and the piece came together very well. I have all necessary elements with extra parts to create a full city. From creating this piece of art work I have learned that color scheme is important in art as matching themes tend to have a bigger impact on the amount of vibrance a piece of art work has. I was very happy with my final piece, it has exactly what I wanted with my work and more, I love the colors the most.
