If the world continues unequal development and globalization without preserving smaller cultures, Mexico will slowly but surely lose it’s diverse culture. After the colonization of Mexico (1519), most of their ancient civilizations have been wiped out (Aztecs, Maya, Olmec) and have been replaced by Western civilization. Even though the country is now independent, it still doesn’t have the economic and political power to preserve and revive their identity. If this path continues, Mexico will steadily lose the uniqueness of its culture.
