1. "Why waste time proving over and over how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide deficiencies when you could overcome them?"
"Of course, each person has a unique genetic endowment. People may start with different temperaments and different aptitudes, but it is clear that experience, training, and personal effort take them the rest of the way."
"The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life"
2. A growth mindset allows us to see challenges and mistakes as a stepping stone for success. What Dweck is saying is that though we are given “Smarts” genetically, everyone has the ability to learn and develop.
3. Your mindset is very reflective of your self esteem. Believing in yourself, that you can do things, and treating yourself with respect and kindness is imperative to your success. Accepting challenges with a growth mindset helps you develop as a person.

"People may start with different temperaments and different aptitudes, but
it is clear that experience, training, and personal effort take them the rest of the way." (pg.2)
2. Each person has their own way of learning. Someone can have growth even if they have a fixed mindset.
3. Having a fixed mindset is orderly and you can have your own ways to learn but you can always have growth in your own mindset.

1. "Believing that your qualities are carried in stone-fixed mindset creates an urgency to prove yourself over and over."
"The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset."
2. The author is trying to explain that if you have a growth mindset, it allows us to overcome our challenges and learn from our mistakes.
3. We think she makes a valid point. She is saying that we need to teach children that having a growth mindset is better than a fixed mindset because using their past experiences should be used as a growing opportunity.

From conception on, there’s a constant give and take between the
two."(pg2)
2. The knowledge that we have now is a foundation that we can build off of. You can always change, any time, anywhere.
3. We agree with her argument that everyone is different and and not everything will work for everyone else. Having a growth mindset teaches us that there is always room to grow, and a growth mindset will help you improve.
3. We live in a society that tells everyone to avoid failure and be perfect.
