Students ask AI to create a role play script based on the unit  functions such as “ urgency “ make it brief funny and a good closing for the lesson

Step 1: Individual Thinking (Think) 🧠

• Task: Students read each prompt and write a 1–2 sentence response using the target functional language (e.g., “I agree because…”, “Can you explain…?”).

• Tip: Encourage them to note 1 probing question per prompt for later discussion.

• Time: 5–7 minutes total (about 30–40 seconds per prompt).

Step 2: Pair Discussion (Pair) 🤝

• Task: Students pair up and share their responses for 2–3 prompts at a time (rotate through all prompts if time allows).

• Instructions for Pairs:

1. Listen to your partner’s answer.

2. Ask 1 probing question per answer using stems like:

• “Why do you think that…?”

• “Can you give an example?”

• “How does this connect to…?”

3. Respond politely and build on the idea:

• “That’s interesting! I think X because…”

• Tip: Rotate prompts so each pair doesn’t get overwhelmed by all 10 at once.

• Task: Each pair shares the most interesting answer + probing question with the class.

• Tip: Encourage students to reflect on how their question helped deepen understanding.

• Padlet or Jamboard: Each pair posts one interesting answer and question.

• Students can comment on other pairs’ posts to build further probing questions.

Quick Checklist for Students (for each prompt)

💡 Pro Tip: With short prompts, the key is rotation and focus. Students don’t need to discuss all 10 prompts in depth with the whole class just focus on a few per round, then rotate.
