During this process, in which they took a break from screen use, our students evaluated their experiences, gaining self-awareness and actively participating in the activity.

During this process, parents actively participated by sharing their observations and evaluations of their children’s screen-free period. Thus, our activity became an important effort in strengthening school-family collaboration.

After the activity, students shared their experiences in class. The student who read a book talked about it. The student who made a ball and designed toys using recycled materials presented their work. The student who designed and sewed clothes for a doll shared their process. The student who baked cookies with their mother explained their experience. The student who played in the park and the one who went on a nature walk with their family shared their experiences. The student who drew a picture also presented and explained their drawing to their friends.

Through this process, our students realized that they can spend enjoyable and productive time without screens.

Experts recommend limiting screen time, choosing high-quality content, and supporting children by co-viewing with parents. Real-life interaction, play, and physical activity are essential for healthy development.
