I know that Joe conducted a number of experiments including candles and jars. One experiment he did was the rat experiment . What he did during this is he took a rat and put it in a jar Overtime,it died. He repeated this a lot times. Till he put a plant in with the rat and it actually survived! this shows that rats and all animals survive through plants he also discovered the co2 o2 cycle

as you might know there is a relation between co2 and o2. If you do not this is what they have in common. in order for us to live we need plants as you know but plants need us humans and animals to live. How you might ask, this is how when we breathe in we take 02 wich is what plants give of but what we breathe of is c02 and plants need c02 believe it or not. So if you didn't know about this you just learned something but if you already know than congrats for being filled with this knowledge.

First us humans breathe out C02 and the plants need C02 to live once the plants take the C02 they give off 02 which is what we need. And the cycle keeps going forever..

In this experiment i was testing if two candles lasted longer or shorter than one candle while in a jar. I lit a candle then placed a jar over it. and saw how long bit lasted versus two candles. the one candle was the control and two candles was my variable. I learned that fire needs 02 to survive.

my hypothesis for this experiment was that two candles would take a shorter time to burn out than one candle. yes it was correct because the two candles took a shorter time to burn out. the average time in seconds for my control was 57.90 seconds. but the average for my variable was 40.67 seconds. NO. this experiment was important because it shows that fire needs 02.

a source of error could be if the clay has a hole in it so 02 gets in it. a source of error was when we went to go blow out the match the breath from the blow would also take out a candle. the effect of this would make us struggle to get the candle ready to put the jar over. an improvement would be if we only lightly blew out the match. so they can fix these sources of error.

to see that fire and other things in this world need 02 in order to survive and C02 to survive. It was important to the real world because it shows that like fire we need 02 to survive. you could put a mouse or small animal in a jar and see how long it would last. because like the fire a plant could help the animal survive and you could also put other variable to test. because it makes you not want to stay in an enclosed room for long because you could pass out.
