<br>-money represents baby, shows how speaker values baby &amp; sees it as worth more b/c she referred to herself as a “fat purse”
<br>-“ a means, a stage, a cow in a calf” shows how she sees herself as a stage in the child’s life, calf= new, unfamiliar to motherhood
<br>-green apples are sour, maybe regrets decision &amp; feels anxious about baby
<br>-the train’s destination is the baby’s birth, the train’s journey is pregnancy
<br>-she’s already pregnant, can’t go back

<br>-1st 5 lines are about excitement for a child
<br>-6th line is showing how she values her child &amp; sees them as worth more
