The United States should only help Ukraine indirectly because by having a more direct approach in that conflict could push Russia to star the next World War and that would create more useless death to all. US should only involve itself with the conflict if Russia attacks or tries to hurt a NATO country since according to the Article 5 of NATO's treaty says "An armed attack against one or more [NATO members] shall be considered an attack against them all," the article reads. It lays out what happens if one NATO country is attacked. NATO must take "action as it deems necessary." That may include "the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area".

The United States should continue to limit and ban Russian items, such as gas, as it helps Ukraine a lot. "We are thankful to our American and European friends... for their quick decisions to help us, for their sanctions against the Russian economy," (Yermak). In the same article, "Opinion: As I write, Ukraine leader Zelensky is beside me; we will fight to the last breath" the writer asks, "We also ask the West to increase the nonmilitary costs on Russia." If the United States does this for Ukraine, it would help them out as Ukraine wants to cut Russia off from the SWIFT banking system.

I feel like the US should stay involved but on the outside and once Russia stops committing war crimes, I feel like we should just let them have their war. In the article Miranda, Gabriela claims, "Russia produces 10 million barrels of oil a day, which is roughly 10 percent of global demand". In this notion I feel like Biden should get kicked out of office, since he already closed one of our major pipelines in America. He should at least still import oil to the U.S. because out gas prices are sky rocketing, an they will only get worst. But I feel like if we do want to stop trade with Russia, I would say we need to open up the pipeline that he closed and stop worrying about the pollution so much, because there is a lot more important things going on in our present day.

personally after reading "why is Russia invading Ukraine" I think that the united states should intervene. One personal reason is so many lives of innocent lives have been lost. Yes this article highlights how this can negatively effect the world. according to the article, "Putin said he sees Ukraine's interest in joining NATO as a direct threat to Russia but in the past has rejected Ukraine's right to exist." Putin has not let Ukraine leave even though he is not in charge of Ukraine. Hen has stated he will take this a threat to Russia. Since Ukraine is not officially apart of NATO, NATO will not send troops to help. But some of the NATO member counties have sent arms, ammunition's and other equipment. Overall I think American should intervene to help with this problem but just sending supplies and other things to help them win, we don't need to start WW3

As of right now we should just supply Ukraine with supplies, and if Russia advances to other countries trying to take them over then we should send troops and help them. "Article 4 of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances guaranteed that the United States, Britain and Russia would seek "immediate" action from the United Nations Security Council "to provide assistance" if Ukraine "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used."

I think that the United States should not step in because the second we do WW3 is more likely to begin. Likewise, in the article, "Why is Russia Invading Ukraine," Miranda says "The U.S. doesn't depend on Russia for major imports. However, financial experts said that turbulent international politics "could cause increases in global energy prices or exacerbate global supply shortages." This shows that America doesn't depend on Russia for much however this war can and most likely will affect the whole world. The united states should only step in when they feel threatened. The united states should aid Ukraine if they feel in necessary said In a televised speech as the attack began, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would "lead to consequences you have never seen in history." This could be another reason as to why The united States should not step in completely. We do not need to face consequences for other countries wars.

I feel like us staying out of it is the best thing even though we are still gonna feel some affects like "increases in global energy prices or exacerbate global supply shortages" (Gabriela Miranda). Like we have already seen gas prices have gone up a dollar since last week and they were already high because of biden shutting down pipelines. I just think America should fix all their problems before joining in a war.

Putin even views Ukraine retreating to the defense of a western alliance as a "hostile act." The only reasonable support the US can give to Ukraine is pumping supplies into Ukraine while clearing a path for citizen evac. There has already been trade barriers set on Russia and more are soon to come.

If America for example increases its energy production through the use of liquified coal a cleaner natural gas and oil, and refined oil exports to Europe. the Russian economic threat will be neutralized.

I think the US needs to be really smart about how they choose to proceed with Russia. Putin is getting older and feels like he hasn’t accomplished much so he’s carrying on this war in Ukraine that was un provoked. According to the article, the head of the office in Ukraine writes that, “Mr.Putins forces will continue to terrorize the country to induce surrender. If they don’t succeed they will burn it all down. It’s either bow or vanish; no third option is allowed” (Yermak). In the US’s point of view, I would rather do everything in my power to stop the war without putting my troops on the ground and start a world war 3. With that being said I support the economic pressure put on Russia and I would rather pay more for oil and cut off Russias big consumer than Russia advance even more in Ukraine and us have to put our troops in Ukraine. If the war advances in Ukraine and Russia begins to try to overthrow more countries then I would say that sending our troops and NATO into Ukraine would be necessary to end the war and stand up for democracy, but that is not necessary as of now.
