I don't think that the evaluation system should focus as much on technology. Some could just let the computer do the teaching instead of them doing the teaching. Technology is a resource that we use to supplement our lessons. It isn't the end all and be all.

Technology is taking over and if teachers are not willing to keep up with it then our students who have grown up with it will suffer in the long run. I am constantly using some form of technology in my classroom either to introduce a lesson, enforce a lesson or finish up a lesson. Technology has so much positive to offer: videos, music (songs to help students remember concepts- they love these and ask over and over to hear them- even some that have moved on come back and tell me if it wasn't for a particular song I played when they were with me they wouldn't have remembered a particular topic on a test) opportunities to travel places they have never been or may never know about through virtual reality, apps that allow students to create and design amazing projects and so much more. How could this not have been more weighted in the past for evaluations when technology brings the world to life for our students and helps them begin to relate topics taught to real world experiences they can not only relate to, but share personal experiences and gain an even deeper understanding. Children nowadays are unable to form proper sentences, hold conversations, much less be on task for even a short period of time.
Now, on the flipside, there are so many different apps on ipads that are super engaging and beneficial for kids. I had 8 in my room year before last at my old district and they were a great resource. With that being said, if they are wanting us to integrate technology more, then my current district is going to need to provide more resources to use.
