"Pyramus and Thisbe, he the most beautiful youth and she the loveliest maiden of all the East, lived in Babylon, the city of Queen Semiramis, in houses so close together that one wall was common to both. " This quote from Pyramus and Thisbe relates to Romeo and Juliet by expressing how Pyramus and Thisbe have a wall between them. That they cannot be together. Pyramus and Thisbe long for each other as did Romeo and Juliet. The story of Romeo and Juliet centers around the idea that they are forbidden to be together because of their family's feud. Pyramus and Thisbe cannot be together because of their family's feud too.

love cannot be forbidden (Kylee)

In both "Pyramus and Thisbe" and "Romeo and Juliet", the main characters have the overall same belief. Whether they are separated by an ancient grudge or their parents' decision, they believe that their love cannot be forbidden. In "Pyramus and Thisbe", they spent their life growing up next to each other, longing to marry. The only problem was that their parents forbade it. In paragraph 2, it says,"Love, however, cannot be forbidden." This line is referring to the fact that they are not only divided by a wall, but also by their parents' decision. In "Romeo and Juliet", they were of separate houses, which meant they could be punished severely if people knew the secret of their love. In Act 2, scene 2, (line 60-61), Juliet said "Art thou not Romeo, and a Montague?" and Romeo replied with "Neither, fair maid, if either thee dislike." This excerpt shows that even the grudge against the two houses couldn't separate them from their love.

Romeo's blame for himself (Ella)

"The lioness came upon it on her way back to her lair and she mouthed it and tore it before disappearing into the woods. That is what Pyramus saw when he appeared a few minutes later. Before him lay the bloodstained shreds of the cloak and clear in the dust were the tracks of the lioness. The conclusion was inevitable. He never doubted that he knew all. Thisbe was dead. He had let his love, a tender maiden, come alone to a place full of danger, and not been there first to protect her. “It is I who killed you,” he said." This quote refers to how Pyramus was blaming himself for Thisbe's death. He felt that he put her in that dangerous situation. In Romeo and Juliet, at the end of the play when Romeo finds Juliet dead, he also blames himself. That is a comparison of how those two stories are similar.

In both "Pyramus and Thisbe" and "Romeo and Juliet", the other characters felt that it was partially their fault for the main characters' death. "The gods were pitiful at the end, and the lovers’ parents too. The deep red fruit of the mulberry is the everlasting memorial of these true lovers, and one urn holds the ashes of the two whom not even death could part. " This quote shows that the
gods and the lovers' parents both felt that maybe it was their decision that led up to this deaths of their children. This was also the case in Romeo and Juliet. In Act 5, scene 3, the prince says, "Where are these enemies? Capulet! Montague! Do you see what a great evil results from your hate? Heaven has figured out how to kill your joys with love. Because I looked the other way when your feud flared up, I've lost several members of my family as well. Everyone is punished." This quote shows that even the prince, who isn't favored to either party, realizes that the atrocity of Romeo and Juliet's death, was caused by both of the parties.
