I also learned that fur trading involved a LOT of effort and work, but it was worth it because it let you survive the cold winter. The last thing that i'm gonna say is that the snow was very deep which made it harder to survive. (it was 5 feet!)

I learned that when the European explorers arrived, they weren't ready for all the snow and cold weather. The European explorers traded pelts, clothing, food, metal goods, and lots of other essential needs (it was also very fun trading items and pelts at Jack Smythe!). They needed all these things to be able to live in the cold weather in Canada. Also, another thing I learned was that the taller the hat, the wealthier you are. This means people would trade with you because you are "rich" and have all the goods. The Europeans had to also develop a relationship with the first nations peoples so they would not be afraid of the Europeans.

Today I learned that when hunting for animal it is better to use a trapper than a rifle. YES! Its better to use a trapper because when you use a trapper, when the animal walks it just traps its leg, but when you use a rifle and shoot the animal you will get the fur but the fur will have holes in it because of the rifle which means people will get less money for the fur .So a way to just get more money is just to use a trapper instead of a rifle. First Nations People had to think strategically to make the most money.

Today I learned that fur trade is very confusing because the banker and shop owner can give you extra money and give you less money than wath you were suppose to get and you have to keep looking at the prices so they don't take advantage of you and something else that is confusing wen they give you a map and you follow the direcations there
