This Teaching Channel video takes place in a moderate to severe special education classroom. The students within this classroom are also ELLs. The teacher discusses her use of modeling, scaffolding, and gradual release of responsibility as way to help her students succeed. She models everything she does for them to provide them with that additional scaffold as well. She provides graphic organizers and picture supports as well as "thinking aloud". I would rate this video with 5 stars because it accurately shows and explains the use of effective teaching strategies.

This is a 20 minute podcast from The Teaching Channel about infusing social and emotional learning into the classroom. In this podcast, they discuss how learners begin to take feedback and apply it to what they are doing. They explain the importance of having a positive classroom atmosphere in order to implement social and emotional learning. It discusses how the brain is able to focus on more content when there is trust and safety in the classroom. It also discusses how classrooms are becoming more and more diverse, and we as teachers need to accommodate that diversity. I would rate this podcast 5 stars because it it provides concrete evidence for the importance of providing social and emotional learning in the classroom.

Science Underground posts a weekly podcast dedicated to the NGSS. They discuss commonly seen topics that are extremely interesting to students as well as take questions that have been sent in. The week I did this assignment, it was a podcast about the science behind fireworks. This can be a great way to engage students in everyday phenomena. Learners could even write in their own questions to see if there is a podcast posted about it. I would rate this podcast with 5 stars because it uses student friendly language and can be a great introduction to science each week.

The questions in the chat I participated in included: What qualities/attributes make an effective school leader? As a special education teacher, what is your biggest challenge when working with school leaders? What tips would you offer new teachers to build collaborative relationships and maintain open communication with their leadership? What do you need most from your school leader? How can you become more of a leader in IEP meetings? I would rate the Twitter Chats with 5 stars because they always have a different main focus and help you to see others' viewpoints on very practical questions.

This is a webinar that discusses the importance of classroom design to promote active engagement in the classroom. It discusses the need for teachers to become more of a facilitator and allow learners to take on the active role. It mentions the implications the arrangement of the room can have on that active learning as well. This webinar also discusses the importance of collaboration in the classroom. They state that a classroom which mirrors real-world collaboration increases learning by 20%. The room should be set up in a way that this is possible for learners. I would rate this webinar with 5 stars because it provides many different examples to help increase learning within your room and what arrangements work best for each activity. This could be used as evidence for why your room is set up the way it is.
