         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Prime Minister of Indonesia, Ali Sastroamidjojo, invited the attendees of the Colombo conference to propose on having another conference that involves more leaders in countries from all around Asia and Africa.<br><br>They came to an agreement that the Asian African Conference will be held in Bandung, Indonesia in April 1955.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Colombo conference was held in Sri Lanka. Its Prime Minister, Sir John Kotelawala, invited four other prime ministers from Indonesia (Ali Sastroamidjojo), Myanmar (U Nu), India (Jawaharlal Nehru) and Pakistan (Mohammed Ali). The purpose of this conference was to discuss pressing issues that concerns each country.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On 3rd of January, Indonesia created an interdepartmental committee, and also, the establishment of the local committee in Bandung, which is led by Sanusi Hardjadinata, the Governor of West Java.<br><br>The Local Committees worked to provide accommodations, logistics, transportations, communication, entertainment, etc.</div>]]></description>

Prime Minister Ali Sastroamidjojo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the delegates from countries such as China, Egypt, India, Burma, etc.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Opening of Asian African Conference (18 April 1955)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At 8.30 AM - the delegates walked from Homman Hotel and Preanger Hotel to attend the opening of the Asian African Conference in 'Gedung Merdeka'.&nbsp;<br><br>It is now known as the 'Bandung Walk'<br><br>At 9 AM - the delegates have arrived in the venue. Shortly after, the president and vice president of Indonesia arrived<br><br>In the opening, President Soekarno delivered a speech titled "Let a New Asia and Africa be Born". He encouraged the Asian African Conference to promote 'unity in diversity'. He also hoped that this conference would bring the effect of freedom and independence to nations in Asia and Africa.<br><br>Soon after, the Chairman of the conference, PM Ali Sastroamidjojo, and with Roeslan Abdulgani as the Secretary General, the dicussion began<br><br>PM Ali Sastroamidjojo took the floor and explained the origin and purpose of the Conference and hoped that this conference will bring unity and peace within nations.<br><br>In the evening - delegates attended an art performance held at the Office of the Governer of West Java. Locals performed various Indonesian arts, such as playing the 'Angklung' and performing several Indonesian traditional dances.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the next day, the delegates gather again to continue another meeting. The main topic / agenda for the day was to continue speeches made by delegates of each country.&nbsp;<br><br>Several speeches were given by:<br>- Japan about the development of welfare for Asian and African countries<br>- Jordan regarding world peace, especially in Palestine<br>-&nbsp; Pakistan about enhancement of economic, political, and cultural relations<br>- Syria about promoting peace in the middle of the world tension due to the cold war<br>- and many more<br><br>Additionally, they created 3 committees which are: the political committee run by PM Ali Sastroamidjojo, economic committee chaired by Prof Ir. Rooseno and the cultural comittee chaired by Mohammad Yamin, the Minister of Education.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Last General Meeting of the Asian African Conference (24 April 1955)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After several days of commission meetings, the last General Meeting was held on 24th of April. It was closed by a passage of the formulation of statements from every committee read by the Secretary General.<br><br>The most prominent and monumental result of the Conference was the 'Declaration of World Peace and Cooperation', which is also known as "Ten Principles of Bandung" or in Indonesian known as "Dasasila Bandung". It is a political statement containing basic principles of upholding world peace and cooperation.</div>]]></description>
