This is a 5 minute hands on, AI integrated speaking and listening activity.

Scenario:

A tourist visits a travel agent to plan his dream vacation using AI-generated content. They use AI tools to enhance their interaction.

Roles:

Tourist: wants a fun, budget-friendly getaway.

Travel agent: uses AI to recommend destinations.

Step 1-(Prep-2 min):

Form pairs: One tourist and one travel agent.

The travel agent uses ChatGPT to get a 3-day itinerary and starryai or DALL.E to generate destination images.

The tourist uses TTSReader, Lab or “Eleven Labs” to listen to the itinerary aloud.

Step 2-(Roleplay-3 minutes)

Travel agentselects destination and records a short thank you video using Padlet audio or video.

This is an AI feature built into the platform, and uses written prompts to generate an image.

1. In a Padlet board, students click the + sign to add a response.

2. Below the Subject, students will need to click on More attachment types (all the way to the right).

3. A new menu will open up. In the new menu, students click I Can’t Draw. This will launch new window where students can enter what they would like the AI to draw.

4. Another tool that can be used to create AI images is the AI 🤖 art studio which takes you directly to “ I can’t draw”

AI assistant can make the following updates to your board:

Updating the title or description: Change the title or provide a more detailed description for your board.

Adding or reorganizing sections: Create new sections or organize them as desired.

Adding or editing posts: Create new posts, edit existing ones and manage their content or appearance.

Updating settings: Modify settings such as:

• The board format

• The wallpaper

• Post comments

• Post reactions

- Log into Padlet.com

- Click Make a Padlet or open an existing one

-Add a New Post

- Click the + button at the bottom or anywhere on the board

- This opens a new post window

-Access the Draw Tool

- In the post editor, look for the “Draw” icon (it looks like a pencil or squiggle)

- Click it to open drawing options

Use AI Assist

- At the top of the drawing pop-up, click on the tab or button that says AI Assist”

- If you don’t see it, try clicking on I Can’t Draw”— sometimes the AI Assist option appears under or near this name (Padlet occasionally renames or shuffles features)

-Type a Prompt

- Type something like:  “A robot teaching students in a forest”

  or

  “A flying classroom in the sky”

- Padlet will generate an image based on your description

-Insert the Image

- Click Insert once the image is generated

- It will be added directly to your Padlet post

If the AI Assist Draw Tool isn’t visible:

- Make sure you're using Padlet on a browser(some features are not fully supported on the mobile app)

- Make sure you have not disabled AI features in your Padlet settings

- Try clicking “I Can’t Draw”— that sometimes hides the AI assist option

- If your version of Padlet doesn’t support it (some free/basic plans may not show it), try using an external AI image tool like Craiyon](https://www.craiyon.com)or Bing Image Creator,then upload it manually
