Possible reasons: Transportation limitations or unreliable transport options (this is at least their third OWI)

Difficulty attending UA's (times, locations).

Inflexibility with work schedules for participants

Often time the participants feel that the program is geared towards "getting your license back" and most people int he program do not have this option and feel like that curriculum does not apply to them.


The clinicians/team do not look like or have similar life experiences to the participants.

The current OWI treatment court team at Journey and the larger Dane County OWI TC team all have a strong criminal justice background. The team is predominantly female and most of the clients are male. The team(s) are mostly made up of white professionals and a majority of court participants are not.
