El pinzón azul of Gran Canaria is a species of passerine bird of the fringilid family (Fringillidae) endemic to this island. The blue finch is a small bird, approximately 16 cm. The male has blueish tones while the female and the juveniles are brown tones. The species is an exclusive island endemic of Gran Canaria, restricted to Canarian pine forests. His diet consists mainly of pine seeds, also feeding on invertebrates. The blue finch of Gran Canaria is one of the most threatened bird species on the planet.

The causes of the danger of extinction of this species are: the destruction of the forest in the past, as a result of the various forest uses; and the effects caused by numerous fires; as well as the indiscriminate collection of specimens for natural history museums.

The puchacz zwyczajny population, although slowly increasing, is still under threat. Puchacz has large forward-facing eyes, together with a beak. On the head two tufts of feathers resemble ears. The eagle owl has excellent vision and hearing. It has characteristic yellow or orange irises of the eyes

The food of the bubo bubo is not only birds, this predator captures all rodents, rabbits, hares, hedgehogs and even young foxes and deer. The thrusting power of its talons can reach up to two tonnes. It is undoubtedly the strongest of the owls.

This largest of the existing owls is a species particularly sensitive to disturbance - when the animal is frightened, it is able to abandon its nest and eggs. This is why the factors that reduce the size of this population are economic works in forests, uncontrolled devel
