Research evidence

It is evident at the end of lesson by applying AFL (pppb) and starters (completion of pictures/ intriguing questions) create the environment of competition in the class. Every student wants to answer and probe a challenging question to participate and compete and engage to give the best Answer. Consequently, active learning and high order thinking (meta cognition) engages students, it involve, evolve and enlighten their learning .

Common misconceptions
1. It is age specific. Ie, metacognition can be applied to older learners. 
2. It is just thinking, not participation. 
3. Teacher is not involved, learners have to do it according to their cognitive level.
