This section paints a picture of Usher's peculiar behavior. For one to be "enchained by certain superstitious impressions", you must value your superstitious feeling more than basic logic. Superstitions oftentimes have no real correlations with the way the world works and in fact, almost never do. Logic on the other hand is almost always applied to the real world. He thinks that his home is cursed and with that, he fears venturing into his own home. There are quite a few passages that stood out to me. By far this one connects most to my theme. It correlates to my theme because the speaker is saying that the being appears almost as a corpse. Later, he expresses that he has a nice body with curves, comparing his face to a delicate Hebrew model.
