Family involvement, when considering your discharge plan, it is vital that you include the family. You should include them in the decision-making process and spend extra time educating the patient and the family. You may also see that young children may not ask questions regarding their health and may rely on older family members.

Special consideration when providing care to Micronesian patients, conduct your interview with the male relative, and if he gives his approval, the female or younger patient will then do so. One must also ask permission from the patient when performing a physical exam, especially if it requires touching the pelvic area, abdomen, and thighs. Especially in Micronesia women, this is considered taboo in their culture and thus may be needed to be avoided with the older Micronesian patient.

Due to the geographic location of the islands and distance from larger bodies of earth, the culture of Pacific Islanders revolves around communal care and social cooperation. They are often found to have a robust transnational identity and continue to support their families or communities when they live overseas. That is still true today, as evidenced by their strong sense of belonging and pride in their culture.

Respect and hospitality are deeply ingrained in the pacific island culture. Some cultures' practices have the children responsible for preparing meals and serving the elderly before they eat.

The pacific islanders define beauty with a holistic approach and consider how an individual takes care of their family and the community. As for physical attraction, they favor larger builds over the supermodel 8-pack physique.

You may have heard of pacific island culture and hospitality. During gatherings, they ensure that there is always more than enough food to serve, and they are not sparingly served. They ensure that the best is served to the guests even if they don't have any for themselves.

Pacific islanders are known to enjoy life and have joyful spirits. They are known for caring for each other and ensuring their basic needs are met without requiring material luxuries. Hawaiians describe this as having the "Spirit of Aloha," reminding everybody to hang loose and enjoy life as much as possible.
