Online courses - we offer mostly to seniors. For others on a case by case basis. We use different providers, again depending on the student and the situation. They are:

Virtual High School

The Online School For Girls (and Boys, but none so far)

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Online

Laurel Springs

Connections Learning

and on one occasion Florida Virtual school

We have offer a few blended courses, but are not offering any fully online courses to students outside the school. It is something we discuss, but is not in our near future.

Research on Adolescents and Screen time:

I posted this topic, because I get this question frequently from middle school parents because of our 1:1 iPad program. Some want to know if there might be any harmful physical effects from using the iPad several hours a day. Others are thinking more about overall well-being. I have not found any definitive research on either and I think it is still too soon for anyone to have completed a long-range study. I have provided parents with the health information provided by Apple, which shows, of course, that the radiation from an iPad is well within the health guidelines for the U.S and Europe.

I mostly tell them that we take a moderated approach and that we don't want their children buried in their iPads all day either. But if anyone has any research, I would be very interested.
