Updating policies and procedures with an equity lens. Getting staff buy in (managers, coordinators and front line staff) so that everyone is using equitable practices and really understands what it means. Understanding that this is not a one and done training but an approach that requires ongoing reflection and support for staff to continually improve upon an equitable approach to services.

Getting programs to commit to the ongoing work involved to ensure that an equity lens is embedded into everything that they do. It is not just another training but must be embedded into everything.

Scenarios and examples of how programs are implementing equitable services, especially in diverse urban areas where people often assume that because these communities are diverse that they are inherently equitable. Templates and worksheets with reflective questions to help programs examine their services and systems.

Some management staff have beliefs that can be a barrier. If management staff have viewpoints that do NOT honor individualized and equitable practices then this sets up an environment of "no" and exclusionary practices that affect children, families, and staff.

I have enjoyed the small group DTL facilitated sessions. However, at the last conference, the groups were too large and I struggled to hear those in my group. If we could keep them less than a table size, that would be great!
