1. In history, bamboo sticks were weapons for powerful Vietnamese soldiers in fighting against modern gun power of instruders!

2. Vietnamese's favorite sport is teasing dogs (and yeah we will run as fast as we can)!!!

3. Children in the countryside are fruit thieves, they spot the fruits from neighbors' trees and take them...Most of them get caught lol.

4. There is no legal drinking age in Vietnam! (yup, ya can go insane...just don't ride your vehicle when you are drunk!!)

5. Carton is one of the favorite foods of students in Vietnam. Some snacks are made from those ingredients and...we don't even know what are we eating. Some already knew but they are too delicious so WHY NOT EAT CARTONS?

6. Vietnam has so many kinds of cakes and breads that you need to spend months eating all of them!!

7. Most of Vietnamese students are the washing machines in the houses as they have to do the laundry often....(does washing machine even exist in Vietnam?!)

Frist of all, about the food, we have Pho, Banh Cuon, Banh Mi, ect. People from other country ate it and rate it very high.

Seccon of all, do you know what is a "Ao dai"? It's a kind of traditional costume here, in Vietnam. We wear it on special day.

The third thing is Vietnam is famous places. Like, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc and more.

Facts about the Vietnamese language

The Vietnamese literature and language are strongly influenced by China due to more than 1000 years of colonization. The Vietnamese written language originally made use of Chinese characters until the 13th century when Vietnam developed its own script called chu nom, with the later adoption of Latin alphabet with diacritics in the 17th century. Spoken Vietnamese is tonal. Though the grammar of the Vietnamese language is relatively simple, 6 tones are quite challenging for learners. A small change in tone changes the meaning of the word. See example below:

Level tone - not emphasized anywhere: ma = ghost
Hanging tone - a grave accent over a vowel: mà = but
Sharp tone - an acute accent over a vowel: má = mom
Asking tone - a hook-like symbol over a vowel: mả = grave
Tumbling tone - a tilde over a vowel: mã = horse
Heavy tone - a point below a vowel: mạ = baby rice plant
