         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am NOT supportive of the notion that there some better are left-brained while others are right-brained. I believe the brain functions holistically; each part of the brain has a particular function. I believe instead that we have particular abilities, each human being has areas or functions he/she can perform better in than others. This also means that we learn differently; teachers has to identify each learner's abilities and address the learning needs of each student . The instruction should include activities that involves the different parts of the brain to make sure the diverse needs of learners are met inside the classroom. We definitely learn differently and educators need to be well aware of these differences and be able to cater to them. Teachers should also start the lesson by activating the right brain; by triggering emotions and visualization in the learners before moving on to tackling more details in the lesson and more concrete knowledge which the left brain is responsible for.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Deena Mansour : I disagree with the claim that one side of our brains is dominant. Yes! the two sides function differently, and each supports distinct skills. Yet, the two sides are complementary. While reading that article about the left and right sides of the brain, I recalled my learning experiences throughout my life till now and found out that both sides interchangeably dominated my learning processes.  I am visual person, but at the same time I am very much analytical. I use both sides in learning. I would say that skills supported by both sides could work together for a better learning experience. Understanding the skills supported by each side, a teacher would perfectly employ these skills for a successful classroom environment and an effective learning.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe that each side of the brain function and operate in a different way!<br>But I don’t believe that each has a specific teaching technique, we as teachers can merge by using different ways and techniques. <br><br>We as teachers can choose different methods to reach each students according to his/her needs. In order children to reach their maximum potential, <strong><em>It is so important that both sides of the brain are stimulated during the educational process.</em></strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I would add that this is one of the teachers skills to be able to let both parts function , we need to motivate them, by any activities , or pre handed  hand on work, this  willencourage them, so will not lose them, but with this world of IT today, we need to alwasy come up with new ideas. As well i beleive that both side would work if properlly activated according the visual, kinesthic students etc. Practice make perfect  , so it would make all of our brain work in parallel.</div>]]></description>

I have always thought that I am a right brain thinker since I used to hate Math and like imagination and stories, however I discovered that I also have some features from the left brain thinkers. Therefore there is no clear dominance of any side ,that's one point, secondly, I believe that this idea can be considered in the term of how to approach students through their skills, but at the end , we are all the same</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>On the Localization and the Interconnectedness of the Brain</strong></div><div><em>The Issue of Left-Brained vs. Right- Brained&nbsp;</em></div><div><em>&nbsp;</em></div><div><strong>&nbsp;</strong></div><div>In the 1960s, Sperry developed a theory emphasizing the people are either left-brained or right-brained (Lienhard, 2017). The studies showed the brain hemispheres are specialized in different tasks. In other words, the left-brain hemisphere is analytical and methodical, while the right brain hemisphere is creative and artistic. This theory was further illustrated by Sperry by demonstrating that language development and production is largely controlled by the left hemisphere (Schunk, 2012). Worded differently, Language is largely associated with the brain’s hemisphere as the Broca’s area, within the upper temporal lobe plays a crucial role in the production of speech and articulation, and the Werneck’s area is important for regulating proper use of syntax (Schunk, 2012).</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>This is why, the functions of the left and right hemispheres have a been an issue of continuous debate. Both hemispheres have localized functions; as the right hemisphere plays a significant role in interpreting contexts through spatial, auditory, emotional and artistic processing (Schunk, 2012). Whereas, the left hemisphere plays an important role in interpreting content through analytical and methodical processing (Schunk, 2012).Despite the fact that both hemispheres have localized functions, they are connected by collections of nerve fibers, creating a highway for information through neural impulses.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>In order to intensify neural connections, teachers should incorporate context and content together. One educational activity related to language development involving the left hemisphere is to rehearse vocabulary words, students may write down a definition, and then write a sentence using the word. Another educational activity involving the right brain hemisphere is asking students to write a song and perform it using a musical instrument or write a fictional story using learned vocabulary words. A further educational activity involving both context and content is when learning Piaget’s development phases in a psychology class, student may be involved in an internship in a nursery to observe behavioral manifestation and link to psychological processes by keeping an updated journal documenting children’s behavior.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Sources:&nbsp;</strong></div><div>Lienhard, D.          <description><![CDATA[<div>As a teacher and educator, I have never divided students into two groups (Left and Right brained). This is because through my experience I have seen students who did not use to like math or numbers; however, with the supportive and encouraging methodologies the teachers use in classes, they became brilliant in dealing with math and numbers.&nbsp;<br>As the article mentioned, until this moment there is no proof that there is a visibility of the right or left- brained notion. Good teachers should be able to activate both parts and help students be more productive using both of them. </div>]]></description>
