Which one was it or was it all?

On the other hand, the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 may have been caused by fear. On June 10th, the first woman, Bridget Bishop, was accused and hanged on account of being a witch. This, in turn, could have caused a hysteria among the people, causing more people to act like witches. They could also accuse because they are afraid of being accused themselves.
