Do good things and leave advice or experience for people in the future.

I chose this poem because I felt a real-life connection to it. Wrath can be controlled, but it depends on whether or not the person wants to control it. It shows 2 different points of view on anger. One towards a friend and another towards an enemy. The imagery brings the poem to life. I particularly like that about this poem. It teaches a valuable lesson.

The relationship we have is like no other and the love we have for each other is so amazing. I have never loved someone so much in my life. She is my person we tell each other everything, I can not even describe the relationship we have in words because it is stronger than anything I could ever write. This poem is about a mom talking to her daughter. I love it

Lena Hwang:
I love this poem for a number of reasons, but the first thing I noticed was the formatting in the way the author(Lucille Clifton) didn't properly capitalize at the beginning of each new sentence or for proper nouns. I also love the biblical reference to Babylon, saying that she didn't come from the best place. To wrap it up, I also love how she says that she "had no model" except herself, and made her life so successful even through all the hardships(ex. "both nonwhite and woman")

I love this poem because coincidently, I was listening to a song called " The Golden Heart of a Maiden" when I was looking through the website. While in this poem, it describes the death of a beautiful woman in a kingdom by the sea. Both the song and the poem reminded me of a deep blue sea, where a man and a woman has a love that even angels are envious. I chose this poem also because I want to learn more about the great American author Edgar Allan Poe.
