(What are they trying to accomplish?)<strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Earth Day mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. They work to get individuals to advocate for the environment.</strong></p></li><li><p>Research and summarize a recent protest they staged. What were they protesting? Where? How did they protest? What was the result?</p><p><strong>In 1970, 20 million Americans took to the streets, college campuses and hundreds of cities to protest environmental ignorance and demand a new way forward. Activists held teach-ins, speeches, debates, demonstrations, protests, burials for automobiles, and many more events nationwide.
