Right away in the poem, I noticed the rhyme at the end of the lines. I also saw the use of repetition and other sound devices like onomatopoeia, personification, and imagery. The words used in the poem like "drowsy", "lazy", and "melancholy" set the mood and tone of the poem.

A phrase that caught my attention was

With his ebony hands on each ivory key
He made that poor piano moan with melody.

It provided figure of speech such as visual imagery with the color contrast between the pianist and the piano itself. He also used personification to try to write how the piano is playing. There were other figurative language such as repetition that could be used to emphasize specific lines as well as onomatopoeia to describe the sounds.
