These costs almost nearly destroyed the Korean Economy. And both times the Mongolian Empire tried to invade Japan, Japan made the Mongols retreat. The Kamakura Shogunate helped protected Japan against the barbaric. But the typhoon, allowed Japan to never be conquered by the Mongols. Furthermore, the Mongol domination of Eurasia transmitted cultural exchange, and this would be an example for some of the Korean ideas and technology to other areas under Mongol control.

Japan was effected with the near wipeout of samurai culture. but thanks to the typhoon, the empire of japan still stood.

But this does not mean that they benefitted positivley, Korea especially had to pay for boasts, weaponary, and clothing. As the mongols demanded when the invaded.

Luckily, after several years with the crumble of the Yuan Dynasty (Mongolian successor of Korea). Chinas' revolt towards the Mongols allowed Koreas king to reclaim some Northern parts of Korea.
