11/14/17
Dumping the veggies and grabbing some Pop-Tarts.

The central idea of the article is that the author wants us to eat more vegetables or fruits everyday for lunch at school but most kids just throw away the fruit or vegetables. For example "But under federal school meals rules, Jackson and other students must take at least three items including one fruit or vegetables even if they don't want them". Another example is "In the LA Unified District, many students don't want to eat fruits or vegetables, according to McCarthy, who co-wrote the study". I usually always bring my own for to lunch. I bring a baloney sandwich, two juice boxes and a rice krispy treat to lunch. I usually always finish eating my meals but sometimes I don't.

The central idea is that lots of food is wasted and people are trying to solve that problem. A detail is "students throw out at least $100,000 worth of food a day" which means that lots of food is wasted."we can stop forcing children to take food they don't like" it means that they try to stop forcing to make child eat fruit. I buy from school, and I like to get burger of rice or chicken. I complete them and give half to my friend.

It affects me because it shows me if i had a phone I would have to be careful. An example in the passage is "Social media has opened many opportunities of communication, but can be risky."It is saying that you must be careful.I don't have social media but if I did I would be careful.I can't beilieve that people might post bad things.

11/20/17
The pros and cons of posting on social media

The concept in the article affects my personality in that I should try to post nice things on the internet and to not post mean things. If I were to post bad things on the internet it could effect my future and make it hard for me to get a good job. For example, "The people who look at your application will want to learn about you. They may search for you online. Posting bad things on the internet can affect my Future career.
