         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.  Describe the various ways a CPU may carry out multi-tasking. [10]<br><br></div><div>The CPU (or central processing unit) is the metaphorical brain of the computer; responsible for all of the processes and calculations needed for the computer to operate. When you have multiple programs open at once (e.g., chrome, Spotify, a game etc.) the CPU has split its time to ensure the functionality of each program at the same time. This however, can be made easier with multi-core CPUs which allow multiple calculations and instructions to be processed at the same time, making the multitasking capabilities of the CPU even greater. On top of this, the OS manages the information sent to the CPU to allow its time to be used more effectively. <br><br></div><div> <br><br></div><div>-Harrison<br><br></div>]]></description>
