He had said in an interview that the whole process happened "by accident". He explored journalism while in grad school at Colombia University and had never thought to himself, "I am going to write a book", but he ended up writing Tuesdays with Morrie at 37 years old after meeting up with his old professor. Mitch had a very strong relationship with his professor, Morrie Schwartz, and after he found out that Morrie was sick and in medical debt, he wrote a memoir in an attempt to make money and help pay off his debts. Mitch was rejected by numerous publishing companies until one of them finally gave him the exact amount of money they needed for the medical bills. It takes place both in heaven and on earth. It starts at Ruby Pier, an amusement park near the Great Gray Ocean. After he dies, the rest of the novel takes place in heaven. There are a few other places Eddie finds himself, like where he was at war, in the mountains, at different weddings, and finally by a river. Making an impact on someone can be doing something as small as holding a door open or as big as donating an organ. This image shows a man standing in the rain and another man running up to him with an umbrella. This image resembles making an impact because the man with the umbrella decided to go out of his way to help the other man and keep him dry even though he did not have to. This poem is about someone who felt sad and alone, but someone decided to help them and the person helped them out of their sadness. The writer described the person helping as an angel, which goes to show that lending a hand to someone can mean the world to them. It is not said what the situation was or what the person did to help, but no matter what it was, they made an impact on the person they were helping and that person will definitely never forget it.

She says that when she fell, she went to a bright place where she saw Jesus, angels, and her grandmother. Jesus told her “Annabel, I have plans for you on Earth you cannot complete in heaven”, so she was sent back to earth and was cured of her illness. This story connects to The Five People You Meet in Heaven because they both went to heaven and had similar experiences seeing people there in their lives.
