Kahoot sounds very good for maths-sometimes anything digital will help. using ICT in the classroom may sound very daunting at the beginning but in the long run it seems to be very beneficial and not at all time consuming-in fact with everything going digital it actually saves you time!

ICT is a very important point in the continuum of assessment. Kahoot is one which is fairly new to me but one which I will most definitely be using in the coming year. I think it would be great for questioning and teacher designed tests and tasks. While you can create your own quizzes this means that you can include all of the information/questions that you feel the children should know and therefore should be able to answer. The chidlren will absolutely love this new idea as it will seem like a game to tehm and not a test. It will be a great tool for assessment in my classroom,

I completely agree with you Maeve. Ipads can be great as it does give you that freedom to walk around the room and visually assess the class based on their ability to complete activities. I have not used starfall before but i will have a look into it, maybe it is an app that i could use in the coming school year. One app which i did find worked very well this year was "spelling bee", again it is very bright and colourful and the children saw it as a game rather than as a learning experience.

Portfolios are written on paper and are a collection of all the things that you have done/completed up to now. eportfolios are similiar but in digital format.

I think it can help them as work can easily be accessed both in school and at home for that home/school link. also they can include images and videos which they might find much easier than typing.

Using the Google docs I would get my first class to engage in procedural writing, something simple like how to make a cup of tea. The children could work in small groups and share their work as they are progressing along with it. With this tool SEN children can be included equally in the activity as if they are not inclined to write they can look up images and add video clips and still be equally involved. As assessment it would be great for the teacher to look at the documents and comment on any spelling or punctuation as see who was involved in what areas. All work can then be shared to their portfolio for easy future access.
