         <description><![CDATA[<div>Working out costings for each flower design produced - fresh material + wrapping + gift card/flower food + labour + VAT = total cost of the design.&nbsp;<br><br>This is an effective task as it's vocationally relevant as well as easy to embed at the start of a session or at the end- prior to putting a design together or after one has been created. It could also work if an image of a design is shared with the group and students predict how much it would have cost to put together.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>GCSE or FSKills<br>All learners in small groups to be given an envelope with printed&nbsp; letters to spell a key word.&nbsp; (This could be the topic of the session or a recap from session before)&nbsp; I set the timer to get the word.&nbsp; The first group to get it have to dash and put it on the board.&nbsp; Once spelt correctly - I often give them 5 minutes to make as many words as they can in pairs or small groups to extend vocabulary.&nbsp; They then have to count up how many they have.&nbsp; You can further embed Maths by giving numerical value to letters (as Scrabble) and see who has the highest score.<br><br>This is an active learning strategy that will get students' brains warm and ready for learning, whilst also developing their English and maths skills at the same time.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Sometimes I misspell one and see if anyone notices :)<br><br>This starter activity serves to review previous learning and also engages them with English skills from the start of the lesson. The intentional spelling mistake is a great way of testing how awake your students' brains are!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Like the numeracy activity on the TV show Countdown, students are given a 'target number' e.g. 326. They have 3 minutes to complete. I also use the countdown music for the last 30 seconds!<br><br>This activity serves to engage students' brains actively at the start of a lesson but also adds fun to numbers, which can be tricky to achieve. The added countdown clock adds context and challenge!</div>]]></description>

They can work it out for that day and perhaps work out over another period of time and how often etc. I will include others in the class also, so as to embed into their&nbsp;mindset how important it is to be punctual and thus the consequences not just in terms of money.</div>]]></description>

Pages will be printed on both sides. There are 5 printers in Beavers disposition suitable for different size paper: A4, A3, A2, A1, A0. Assume, that every printer prints one page side in 10 seconds and Beaver can print several pages on one sheet without extra time. How many seconds Beaver will need for printing this book?<br><br></div><div>A3 is twice bigger than A4, A2 is twice bigger than A3, etc.</div>]]></description>
